Yellowfin tuna preserves are made from Rabil or Yellowfin (Thunnus albacares). This species can grow up to 2 meters in length and reach a weight of 200 kg. It has a bulky, scaly body that tapers towards the tail. Its distinctive yellow fins set it apart from other species in the same family.
This migratory fish is caught by large vessels in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. It is frozen onboard to preserve its quality until it arrives at the factory, where it is processed and canned.
It has a light coloration characteristic of its name.
